Reminders: Return to On-site learning at St. Dominic’s School.

Monday 8th June –

Queen’s Birthday public holiday (no staff or students at school)

Tuesday 9th June –

All students return (first day for Year 3-6)

Friday 26th June-

Last day of Term 2-staff and students finish at 1.30pm

St. Dominic’s School is committed to providing a safe learning and working environment for our students and staff. We ask the whole school community to follow these guidelines to enable us to provide the safest possible environment during this time. We all have a role to play in stopping the spread of COVID-19 in Victoria.

From June 9th when all students from Prep-Year 6 are back on site at school, there will be 2 pick-up times available at the end of the day. Students from Prep-Year 2 and their siblings need to be picked up at 3.15 with all other students to be collected at 3.30. Lakshmi will still be in the Hub from 7.30-8.30am and from 3.30-5.30 for the children who require supervision before and after school.

Parents and Carers will be asked to wait outside the gates at the end the day-teachers will bring their classes out to the car park.

The Joseph Street gate will be open at the end of the day ONLY.

Camp Road gates will also be open morning and afternoon.

Students who have borrowed a device from school must return the device on Tuesday June 9th (please don’t forget the charger!)

All students in the year levels returning to on-site schooling are expected to attend school. Schools are not expected to provide remote learning where parents elect to keep these students at home, except where this is based on medical advice and after a conversation with Ms. Bretag.

All unwell staff and students MUST stay at home. Any student who arrives at school with a temperature or symptoms of a cold or flu will be sent home.

All students MUST have their own water bottle to drink from and will be encouraged to refill it throughout the day.

Social distancing for adults will be strictly in place at St. Dominic’s. This means that students need to be dropped off in the carpark. Parents and carers will not be allowed on-site, except in strict circumstances.

Parents and carers are encouraged to continue to communicate with school staff by email and phone call.

To avoid all large group gatherings, there will be no whole school assemblies, Breakfast club, after school Learning Club or Kelly Sports until the end of Term 2.

The school has undertaken extra cleaning measures. All staff, students and visitors will be asked to use hand sanitiser when entering the school and regularly throughout the day. We will also be testing the temperature of all students and staff each day.

Thank you in anticipation for your support-we are very excited that students are beginning to return to on-site learning; and we hope and pray that we can help to stop the spread of Covid-19, and get back to ‘normal’ as soon as possible.

Ms. Bretag on behalf of the St. Dominic’s School staff.
